Tonight Mike and I had to escort The Boss to the Miami airport. Not fun. The Boss and The Lucy Dog rode together while Mike and Natalie followed in the truck. After dropping off The Cage for The Lucy Dog, Mike took off in the Audi and I was left to drive the Toyota. About a half hour on our way back down to the Keys, Jon called. American Airlines regretted to inform him that there was no room for The Lucy Dog. Sooooo….. we turned around to pick up the stranded puppy. When we got there, The Boss and Dog were nowhere to be found and Grumpy Homeland Security guy waved us on after sitting in the lane for about 2 minutes. So we circled around the terminal and parked again. After we loaded Lucy and the cage back up, an American Airlines representative ran out and told The Boss that they could all get on the plane after all.
Yippee.
So The Boss and AA guy ran into the airport, leaving Lucy outside with two drivers and two vehicles. So driver number one (that’s Mike) took Lucy into the airport leaving the Audi unattended.
Grumpy Homeland Security guy found us again and this time gave the Audi a ticket.
On the way home, driving behind Mike, I couldn’t help thinking that I hate airports and Florida too.
The full moon was…. well full. As it should be when it’s a full moon. It was beautiful. Then when we hit the stretch (no man’s land between Florida City and the Keys) the moon was reflecting off the ocean. It was brilliant. Not to mention, very difficult to drive and admire at the same time.
So maybe it’s not that bad, this whole living in Florida thing. The sunsets are amazing. I’m here with my best friend. And now I know that full moons out over the ocean are worth a walk and a fight with the mosquitoes.
