What I really want to say is…

Accidental Post

I had no intention of writing today, but something just happened to me that… well, I might be the only one that appreciates it, but if you really know and love me, you might get a kick out of this.

I decided to look for a quote by Michael J. Nelson. I didn’t try very hard, but the first and only quote I found was this:

[Talking about the film 'Manos: The Hands of Fate']: We [the writers] started watching it, and had never seen anything like that. We kept saying to ourselves, ‘There is no way we can do this movie, it is just too bizarre.’ But we finally decided, ‘No, we must bring this to the world.’

I have seen “Manos“, and I agree with the quote. It is bizarre, and remains as one of the most painful MST3K experiences of my life. I chuckled at the random quote tied to the random movie and decided that I didn’t really want to go quote fishing today.

I decided to look up short actors. Last night at rehearsal we had gotten into a conversation about famous actors who were short. I was vowing that Patrick Swayze was 5′4″. Well, he’s really 5′10″. Sorry, Danny, I lied. So I did a search on wikipedia for short actors and found out that Dustin Hoffman is 5′6″ and Al Pacino is 5′51/2″. I was encouraged by finding such substantial talent so I decided to dig a little deeper.

I found a list of short people. On that list was the name of an actor that rang a bell but didn’t necessarily sound familiar. John Reynolds. I clicked on his name.

This page came up.

If you are too lazy to go there, it turns out that John Reynolds played Torgo in “Manos: The Hands of Fate”, a film that “remained in almost complete obscurity until 1992 when it was featured in an episode of the television comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000.”

I blinked.

I blinked again.

Then I decided to write this post as quickly as possible so in case my brain exploded, you would all know why.
