I usually close my eyes and cover my ears….and hum……
so I’ve seen Wolverine TWICE and I am SO GEEKED to see Star Trek and Terminator!!!
I start working part time at the theater and movies will be free! Don’t be jealous.

The Devil’s Backbone was good. Not as scary as I thought it was going to be, and even though the Devil’s backbone was explained, I’m still not sure what it had to do with the movie.

And yes, I put my fingers in my ears. My reasoning is that it’s better than covering my eyes. I’m glad I was able to add a little bit of extra entertainment to your movie experience, Erick. ;)

First, I didn’t like how La Vie en Rose jumped around in time. Half of the time we didn’t know what the hell was going on. Everything seemed jumbled and it was hard to follow. I suppose the movie was meant for French audiences who may have read her biography at some point. Secondly, who knew Edith Piaf could be so unlikeable? For being France’s number 1 musical icon of the 20th century, she was an atrocious human being. Mean, obnoxious, insecure, and drunk throughout most of the movie. Amy Winehouse is definitely following in her footsteps.

Ma Vie en Rose is definitely a better movie. I admit that I was skeptical at first when I heard the movie was about a child’s sexual identity crisis. But after watching it, you realize that it’s the kid’s parents and the town that are having the crisis rather than the kid. It was thought provoking and quirky.

We also watched The Devil’s Backbone by Guillermo del Toro, which I loved even more. If you liked Pan’s Labyrinth, you’ll love this cool ghost story. It was also fun to see Natalie get a little scared. I didn’t know this, but during scary parts of any movie, instead covering her eyes, she puts her fingers in her ears. :)

We went to see Star Trek last night. I loved it! I like Wolverine, too.

I actually did the opposite. I was suppose to watch Ma for one of my Children’s Lit class and got La instead. Never ended up seeing either when I figured out the mistake. Tell Erick to make you watch some of the ones I had to watch that we talked about when I was there. Especially the one about the little boy and girl who share the pair of shoes. Evan loved that one, even with the subtitles. Let me know if I should look up the title.
